Well, I did it again. I plowed through another book, despite me saying I would take it slow. I guess you just can’t stop me.
This week’s read was The House Across the Lake, by Riley Sager, a psychological thriller that once again, provides many twists and turns along the way. I must say, after writing a suspense/thriller of my own, I am constantly suspicious of even the smallest of characters, always suspecting anyone with a name. I did guess half the twist, but not the whole story behind it. You won’t believe it either until you read it!
The book definitely grabs your attention right from the start and there are no lulls anywhere throughout. It took a slightly different turn than I’d expected, but I had to keep reading to the end because it piqued my curiosity. It’s a real page turner, fast-paced, and full of deception, leaving the reader asking themselves who can they trust.
